MICROSCHOOL

A personalized education setup in small groups where students receive core courses (Math, Social Studies, Science and Language Arts) plus special subjects such as STEM, Spanish, P.E. & health, music, agriculture, entrepreneurship, arts, literature, and many more.  This innovative system also incorporates Florida state standards for quality assurance. In this program, students are not measured by tests that force them to simply memorize information from textbooks and spit it back out on a test; rather, our students are evaluated through a series of Socratic Discussions and project-based learning assessments which allow them the freedom of research, collaboration and natural inquiry as well as creative expression.

Our Micro-School Program engages children in our  Enter-Training approach. Combining the perfect blend of learning and FUN!

Our Learning Center is a revolutionary Microschool that is the model for the future of education.

We have everything your child needs to thrive and succeed without the stress and anxiety of “traditional” schooling.

Similar to the concept of Montessori, which take a hands-on approach to learning, the Lingua concept provides a student-centered environment where the children have ownership of their lessons and are guided in the educational process to attain mastery utilizing their innate abilities and interests. However, unlike the Montessori method, which was created over 100 years ago, Lingua takes experiential learning into the 21st century by providing children with the life skills, technology and innovation opportunities they need to become the leaders of the future.

Our Mission is to provide children with the education and experiences they need to become highly-effective, dynamic leaders.

Lingua students learn what they want, when they want and how they want!

What is a Micro-school?

Microschools are called “micro” because they’re small. Students are part of a mixed-age class rather than split into different grades. They are the result of rethinking the traditional educational model to better prepare children for the future. They are small, private institutions where students are empowered to personalize their own educations and are held accountable for their own progress. Often described as "outsourced homeschooling," they are free from the bureaucracy, standardized tests, homework, and mandatory curriculum that defines today's public school system.

What Lingua Academy's Microschool offers you:

Students will experience math, reading, language arts, science, social studies and Spanish in real life lessons through fun and interactive sessions.

√ Bilingual Environment, the Lingua Proven Methodology

Students engage in Spanish learning through our proven LINGUA Methodology. Our courses combine a proven track record of successful language learning since 1998. Hearing, seeing, living, feeling, touching, smelling and tasting knowledge. Language learning includes conversation, vocabulary, reading, writing and culture.

√ Personalized Education

The greatest benefit of a small school environment is that education can be customized to each child's best learning method and their specific needs. Learning coaches are able to nurture and guide children individually, each at their own pace.

√ Project-Based Learning

Meaningful, interactive assignments teaches creativity, teamwork, problem solving, and other skills that will allow students to compete in a high-tech world. Hands-on assignments that engage a variety of skills and inspire curiosity and problem solving.

√ Self-Paced Learning

Time is assigned for core skill mastery, such as reading, writing and math. Most is self-paced using eLearning. Students work independently and at their natural pace on mastering these skills. They complete a topic and show mastery of it when they’re ready to do so, rather than at a predetermined testing time. Students are free to read books that interest and challenge them, and it doesn’t have to be the same book their friends are reading.

√ Socratic Method

Through directed, purposeful conversation, children learn reason, critical thinking, and objectivity, as well as the soft skills that make up basic interpersonal communication. Socratic Discussions and self-paced challenges equip children to be independent lifelong learners.

√ Group Collaboration

Other skills and concepts are practiced as a group. This “collaboration time," includes outdoor education, physical education, animal care, art, science, history, and entrepreneurship as well as project time during their core subjects all while preparing children for Apprenticeships and real world challenges.

√ Reflection and Accountability

Students learn accountability as they close the day. They themselves are responsible for maintenance, which occurs daily. Every day closes with a huddle, in which students reflect on their day and critically evaluate what they’re doing well and what they could improve.

At LINGUA ACADEMY, our students learn core curriculum through other engaging delivery methods such as:

  • Hands-on Experiential Activities

  • Field Trips into the “Living Classroom”

  • Expert Guest Speakers

  • Leadership and Teamwork

Our Team

Students are guided and mentored by educational Learning Coaches and experts who have a wealth of knowledge to share. Their role is to facilitate student learning in a safe, nurturing environment and to lead students to the greatest learning outcomes.

Coaches encourage and guide children to the best of their abilities. Their approach is hands-on and direct. A Learning Coach becomes thoroughly familiar with the strengths, needs, and personality of each student. They assist each student in their individual quest for knowledge, but are facilitators rather than organizers. Coaches empower students to take charge of their own education, and provide much more appropriate preparation for the real world than the artificial school environment. Coaches encourage younger and older students to listen, affirm, set goals and hold each other accountable.
