Lower Studio: Kindergarten & 1st Grade

Language Arts & Reading

Phonics, reading, grammar and writing curriculum is personalized and designed in a hands on approach as well as self-paced. Our language arts course is individually chosen for students abilities. During Language Arts LAB, students will work on their assignments and lessons with a teacher in the lab room to assist, monitor and guide them toward success. Student's will roam within language art centers to work on their phonic awareness, reading comprehension and practice writing concepts for mastery and success. Language arts will play a big roll in projects assigned throughout the year involving key reading concepts at each level. 

Math

Math curriculum is personalized and designed in a hands on approach as well as self-paced. Our math course is individually chosen for students abilities. During Math LAB, students will work on their classes with their teacher in the lab room to assist, monitor and guide them toward success. Student's will roam within math centers to enhance creativity, develop motor and critical thinking skills and practice early math principals for mastery and success. Math will play a big roll in projects assigned throughout the year involving key math concepts at each level. 

Science

Explore the essence of all living things through research, readings, experiments, labs and Socratic Discussions. Emphasis will be on the study of matter, energy, light energy, location and perspective, living and nonliving, animals, materials and mixtures, science tools, sound energy, magnets, plants, weather, electrical energy, heat energy, energy transformations, motion, simple machines, force, Earth, space, Eco awareness, habitats, animal behavior, agriculture and farming, food webs and chains. Students will explore science through the Scientific Method and experiments. 

Social Studies

Enable students to examine, understand, and respond to creative expressions of individuals and societies through an interdisciplinary study of art, culture, history, and literature. Emphasis will be on timeless and classic literature taking students on a journey around the globe. Each year we'll focus on different themes within History and Geography including; students will learn their place in the world.

Literature

Develop students’ knowledge of great literature through a series of interactive experiences in reading, writing, speaking and listening. We know that reading is important for nurturing academic skills, but even more essential, the stories we choose to tell our children will help shape their moral imaginations. Each lesson has been picked for its literary value as well as the character traits exhibited by the heroes and heroines associated with how these relate to the hero within us all. Critical thinking takes place through Socratic discussions that will impact real life.

Spanish

Students engage in Spanish learning through our proven LINGUA Methodology. Our courses combine a proven track record of successful language learning since 1998. Hearing, seeing, living, feeling, touching, smelling and tasting knowledge. Language learning includes conversation, vocabulary, reading and writing. Furthermore, the greatest learning actually happens OUTSIDE of the classroom. Students have the opportunity to explore a multitude of artistic medium and tap into their innate creativity through the Spanish culture in the arts, handcrafting, international culinary arts, dance, music and folk tales.

Electives

PHYSICAL EDUCATION & MOVEMENT: Providing cognitive content and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge, and behaviors for physical activity and physical fitness. Students build the ability and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime. Sports include; soccer, basketball and volleyball. Movement includes yoga, dance and boot camp. Students will practice their Spanish skills in their P.E. and health classes each week. 

OUTDOOR EDUCATION: Our natural setting provides one of the greatest gifts to an individual; the opportunity to grow intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically in nature. Some activities include gardening, fishing, Eco awareness, recycling, nature sightings, animals in their habitat, animal behavior, survival experiences, among others. 

BARN: Aimed to  nourish the connection between students and the barn. Students will be able to learn all about agriculture, horses, farm animals, riding, grooming, safety, anatomy, growing crops, teamwork and responsibility. These foundations will help students gain self-confidence and personal growth all while having a FUN!tastic experience filled with lifetime memories and rewards. 

ENTREPRENEURIAL EXPERIENCES: Develop students’ understanding of business, critical thinking, and research methods as well as practical application of real-life Entrepreneurship. All students will create their own businesses or project and present these to a panel of business experts at the end of the course!

STEM: Students will be exposed to a variety of projects that teach everything from spacial awareness to design and problem solving while also piquing their interests in the mechanics of how things work. Our yearly Science Fair calls for the opportunity for FUN STEM  challenges. Lessons involving carpentry, technology, mechanics, coding, computer skills, etc.

PERFORMING ARTS: Students are encouraged to explore their talents through a variety of musical and expressive forms; drama, dance, music and singing.

Upper Studio: 2nd through 5th Grade

Language Arts

Our language arts course is individually chosen for students abilities. During Language Arts LAB, students will work on their assignments and lessons with a teacher in the lab room to assist, monitor and guide them toward success. Learned skills will play a big roll in projects assigned throughout the year involving key language arts concepts at each level allowing for great hands on practice and composition.

Math

Math curriculum is personalized and designed in a hands on approach as well as self-paced. Our math course is individually chosen for students abilities. During Math LAB, students will work on their classes with a live coach in the lab room to assist, monitor and guide them toward success. Math will play a big roll in projects assigned throughout the year involving key math concepts at each level allowing for great Entrepreneurial opportunities, real life skills and collaboration.

Science

Explore the essence of all living things through research, readings, experiments, labs and Socratic Discussions. Emphasis will be on the study of the Scientific Method, scientific ways of knowing, methods of measurement, magnification as a scientific tool, environment, web of life, balance of nature, animal habitats and habitats, wildlife conservation, forest and desert biomes, tundra, grasslands and ocean biomes, bodies of water, astronomy, solar system and beyond, pollution and Earth's resources, energy alternatives, conserving Earth's resources, weather, plant and animal cells, classification system, body, form and function, physics, energy, water, light energy, sound waves, electricity, magnetism, air pressure, technology and design, agriculture and farming.
